Here’s the deal….
There’s a new kind of debt collection agency that’s recently been created…and it’s not good news for a bankrupt person. In fact, be scared…very scared. Let me explain…
Lenders routinely sell “bad debt” (debt that they believe they will have a hard time collecting) to companies that then attempt to collect it.
No big deal, right?
People have been doing that since Old Testament times.
But here’s the scary new twist…
…lenders are selling debt that was properly discharged in bankruptcy.
Let me say that another way.
Lenders are selling debt that was properly discharged in bankruptcy to companies with plans to collect from you, even though you are not obligated to pay it back.
What the fuzz?!
Shouldn’t a debt that was properly discharged in your bankruptcy be uncollectable?
The short answer…YES!
So what gives?
